Driscoll Research Group

I joined the group in 2016. My primary research interest is on REBCO thin film superconductors. My project looks at way to improve the pinning properties of REBCO films to increase their current carrying abilities in magnetic fields. I am also looking for ways to increase the growth rate of REBCO films via the use of liquid-assisted processing (LAP) techniques. Improvements to both the speed of production and performance of REBCO films will be of great benefit to REBCO tape manufacturers, such as SuNAM Co. Ltd, a company we are collaborating with in this project.

My work is funded by the EPSRC and SuNAM Co. Ltd.
