Talks and meeting around the world.

The team are often traveling around the world delivering talks or attending project meetings. Recent highlights include the WIN distinguished nanotechnology lecture (click here) at University of Waterloo in December 2016, and the Imperial College Materials department Alumni dinner in March 2017, at the Armourers’ Hall in London, where Prof. Driscoll was the guest speaker, recalling all the excellent and kind academic colleagues who helped her on her way.

Printed coatings enable more efficient solar cells

Researchers at Cambridge, Imperial and Singapore have developed a method to print ultrathin coatings on next-generation solar cells, allowing them to work in tandem with silicon solar cells to boost efficiencies.

Tuhin becomes an Assistant Professor

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Tuhin Maity has now taken up an Assistant Professor position at the IISER Thiruvananthapuram in India, after very successfully completing his EU H2020 MC fellowship (Grant no. MSCA-IF-2016-745886-MuStMAM) with additional kind sponsorship from the Isaac Newton Trust (Grant no. RG96474). We are thankful to the sponsors and are very happy to keep up our excellent collaboration with Tuhin in the future.

Congradulations Dr Bonan Zhu

We congratulate Bonan Zhu who passed his Phd viva. Bonan will continue to collaborate with us on cathode materials for solid state batteries on a Faraday Project called FutureCat. His postdoc work is with David Scanlon at UCL. We look forward to welcoming Bonan back to the group so we can all celebrate together

Nanjing Centre of Technology and Innovation donates PPE to Addenbroke's and the Royal Papworth hospitals

Prof. Driscoll’s industry collaborators in China, have made a great donation of PPE via the Cambridge University-Nanjing Centre of Technology and Innovation to Addenbroke’s Hospital and the Royal Papworth Hospital, both in Cambridge. Prof. Driscoll and her group are grateful to all our Chinese students for helping us stay safe by providing PPE.

Judith is awarded grants from the ERC and Leverhulme Trust

Judith attends IWAM 2020, UAE

Judith attended IWAM 2020 in Ras-Al-Khaimah, UAE, and had a very interesting visit. She delivered a talk on magnetoelectric memory. She also interacted a lot with young researchers from the middle east region, encouraging them to pursue careers in science.

Judith visited the Royal Academy of Engineering Fellows’ day and exhibited her work at a booth. She spoke to interested delegates about her team’s work as part of her being awarded a Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies grant, on advanced memory materials.
