About
Michael is from Dublin, Ireland and received his BA in Nanoscience: Physics and Chemistry of Advanced Materials from Trinity College Dublin. He has worked previously on functionalisation of MXenes for improved supercapacitor energy storage in the group of Valeria Nicolosi (TCD) and has studied domain wall motion in three dimensional magnetic systems in the group of Claire Donnelly (MPI-CPFS)
Michael works on pulsed laser depostion, device fabrication, and electrical characterisation of ferroelectric devices for memory storage applications. He works primarily on hafnium oxide based systems, investigating fundamental properties to improve performance and integrate with CMOS technologies. He also investigates emergent ferroelectric materials.
His research is funded by MSCA Grant ID: 101168161 (MASAUTO: MAterials for Smarter AUTonomous SensOrs)
