27th September 2023: The FeminCam conference was held at Trinity College, a 1-day event to celebrate women leaders in the field of electronic materials, organised by the members of DMG, Prof. Driscoll, Prof. Kar-Narayan and Dr Di Martino. The event featured 10 incredible talks by women PIs in Cambridge, which focused on their research as well as their unique experiences as women in science. The event finished with a roundtable discussion, which featured questions from the audience directly (so many that we could only get through a portion of them!). Over 100 people attended the event, everyone contributing and participating in the discussion in an inspiring and thought-provoking day. The DMG will produce a document to report the main points, comments, and thoughts from the event, in order to demand institutions and communities to take action and make progress on EDI matters - so watch this space!
