The Driscoll group is very grateful indeed to an alumnus of the department, Dr. Bill Welland, for his generous recent donation to our research group. We are really sorry that our summer meeting with Dr. Welland won’t now be able to take place, but we hope to meet him later in the year.

Judith, Matt Wells, Adam Lovett and Bonan Zhu attended “The Power of Interfaces: Fundamentals for Solid State Devices” meeting at the Royal Society in London. We presented 2 posters and gave an invited talk.

Judith attended IWAM 2020 in Ras-Al-Khaimah, UAE, and had a very interesting visit. She delivered a talk on magnetoelectric memory. She also interacted a lot with young researchers from the middle east region, encouraging them to pursue careers in science.

Judith attended and spoke at the Heroes Magnetonics conference in Bad Honnef in Germany from 27-29 January, 2020.

Adam visited Prof. Mark Huijben's research group for 6 days at the University of Twente

Prof. Driscoll was very pleased to talk at her old advisors’ 100th birthday conference at Stanford University.
