A new grant from the EU for developing new materials.The group is pleased to receive notification of an award from the EU of an H2020_MSCA_ITN grant, called beMagic.  The grant is on developing magnetoelectric materials for memory and biological applications.

Tom Bedford and Judith visited Tokomak EnergyTom Bedford and Judith had a very interesting visit to Tokomak Energy who are building superconductor fusion magnets. Tom is sponsored to work with them to help understand the factors for improving the superconductor performance.

After 3 days in New York at a Journal Editors meeting at AIP, Judith visited the Naval Research Lab and delivered a talk there on how to engineer 3D strain states into complex oxides for creating entirely new properties
